Compactor Safety Awareness Week
Compactors have been identified by the Heath and Safety Executive and WISH as a high risk activity in the waste industry. It is important that both the operator of the compactor and the driver undertaking the service are fully aware of the risks involved with compactor operations and are suitably trained. Compactors also fall under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). This means equipment must be properly maintained, defect checked and fit for purpose.
JWS are undertaking a Compactor Safety Awareness Week. A roll out of refresher training for our drivers and a catalog of safety information has been made available to existing customers who use compactors on site. JWS have a dedicated Compliance Department and a wealth of experience in servicing compactors, therefore if you would like to speak to a member of the JWS Sales Team to see how JWS can safely assist you with your compactor services please contact the JWS Customer Care Team- Customercare@jwswaste.co.uk
