JWS Waste Carbon Saving Figures
JWS Waste have made further inroads into Carbon Savings between May 13 and April 14
JWS Waste achieved a saving of 9522 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent (CO2e), this is a 8% increase based on the saving for the 2012/2013 period.
JWS have now achieved an increase in the CO2e saving for three years in a row, achieving a huge 48% increase since we started recording.
The saving increased at a slightly lower pace during the 13/14 period compared to previous years due to a slight change in the composition of waste.
The waste we receive during this period contained more hardcore and inert materials and less green waste, wood and card which all have higher carbon saving values. Overall however we have still diverted additional 23,000 tonnes of waste from landfill compared to last year.
