Volunteer Work for Sea Life Manchester’s Environmental Clean-up

Now you can help the environment, by volunteering for Sea Life Manchester’s Environmental Clean-up

Volunteer for Sea Life Manchester's Environmental Clean-up project to help them protect wildlife and keep the environment clean.

Sea Life Manchester’s monthly environmental clean-up is coming soon, and you can take part in helping the environment by volunteering for the project.

Canal cleans are run once a month by Sea Life Manchester, for volunteers to collect abandoned rubbish across the canal at Barton Square. The purpose of this scheme is to protect the wildlife from litter and also to ensure that the landscape remains clean and pretty.

Both Sea Life Manchester and JWS Waste are keen to protect the environment, which is why we’re donating skips in aid of this project. We’d love for these Environmental Clean-ups to continue to be successful, and now you can join in to help.

The next clean-up will be on the 13th April, and it’s not too late to volunteer! To register for this project, simply email Laura at laura.sharp@merlinentertainments.biz. Both adults and children can participate in this event to clean up the environment.

Volunteers will meet at Sea Life at 1pm on the day, where they’ll begin preparations for the clean-up;  including filling out forms etc. All the necessary equipment for the clean up is provided for, so all you have to do is dress appropriately for the weather.

The walk along the canal will last for an hour and a half, in which you’ll be collecting litter and helping Sea Life Manchester to clean up the environment. But that’s not all. At 3pm, once the clean is finished, all volunteers are then rewards with free admission into the Sea Life centre.

Volunteers will also be entered into a prize draw, which Sea Life Manchester run once a month. This will give you an opportunity to win either a free Sea Trek or a Turtle Feed Experience! Here at JWS, we believe that this is a fantastic way of getting the community working together to clean up the environment. And the more people that volunteer to take part, the more successful we’ll be in keeping the environment clean and safe.

For more information on Sea Life Manchester’s previous Environmental Clean-ups, or for more dates of other canal cleans that you may want to volunteer for, visit their website and take a look. This is your chance to make a change to our environment – all you have to do is register.
