Why Driver Training Matters To JWS – Road Safety Week 2018

It’s Road Safety Week 2018

And we’re taking a look at what driver training means for JWS and our FORS Driver Training Scheme. Here at JWS, we are passionate about driver training as part of our strong health & safety culture.

With a big fleet of heavy-duty vehicles operating across North West, including the busy streets of Manchester City Centre, safety is crucial not only for our driver’s sake but also that of the general public.

Since achieving our Bronze FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) Accreditation, we have continued to deliver regular driver training with the FORS e-learning courses. This included the Cycle Safety e-learning course, the theme of this year’s Road Safety Week.

We believe that driver training is essential to ensuring our drivers stay safe and sound on the road, at all times. Regular training courses ensure that our drivers are always aware of safety procedures and what they need to consider when driving and operating our vehicles.

FORS training courses aren’t the only driver training JWS provide. For example, Health & Safety Tool Box Talks are delivered to all JWS employees to ensure everybody is following health & safety best practices, including our drivers.

The aim of the extra training is to help drivers develop skills that promote their safety and that of their vehicle, as well as the general public. We believe that training is a key part in building a strong workforce that gets the best results.
